Born in Gimilaroy country (Bingara NSW) of Angle, Scots and Welsh heritage, SusanneRae currently lives in Willyama (so-called Broken Hill,) on Willyakali country.
SusanneRae has a background in visual arts education and meditation teaching. An artist with a deep passion and care for the earth. They bring a pragmatic grounded spirituality and a lifetime’s experience working with earth-centred energies to their work . SusanneRae’s art practice ranges over photo media, painting , making 3D objects with found materials, knitting, gardening and ritual..

Is a Priestex of the Earth, gardener, healer, teacher, mother, traveller, activist and friend: a weird, queer witch who works with Labyrinth, many Deity, Yoga,Goddesses, Nature beings, Mystical Buddhism and Seidre. a weird, queer witch who works with Labyrinth, Mystical Buddhism and Seidre. I have a lifetime’s experience working with earth-centred energies and currently live in Willyama (so-called Broken Hill, NSW.)
I have been teaching and organising in Reclaiming for nearly 10 years. l am devoted to magic and the Reclaiming Community. I know the will to change, the transformational power of personal wisdom; of the desire to hold, heal and love this earth and each other as we untangle the mess of white-supremacist capitalist patriarchy and attempt to weave a new future together. l love the mystery and all the challenges it brings.
On retiring from NSW Education Department in 2013, I opened my own business the Meditation Space in Campbelltown and for the past 8 years have been teaching stress management, art classes, meditation and yoga in Campbelltown community. In 2020 when I moved to Broken Hill, I have continued to offer meditation, yoga and teacher training online. In 2025 I opened a new Yoga Studio :Yoga out the Back
Early in my career I worked as a registered nurse midwife with a specialty in adolescent health. I have taught youth health at TAFE.
Before retiring I worked for six years with the Department of Education’s Arts Unit as the ARTEXPRESS Project Officer). In bringing the exhibition to regional galleries across NSW (including Broken Hill) I conducted workshops for teachers and students in collaboration with local schools and artists.
Prior to that I worked as a Visual Arts teacher for nine years in a range of teaching environments including classrooms and galleries.
My most recent community project was the creation of a Community Labyrinth in a local park in Campbelltown with tiles made by the community. Opened in 2019.
I have an eclectic art practice working with acrylics, oils, drawing and photo-media. Multimedia and earth-based artworks such as labyrinths and gardens.
I am innovative, thorough, efficient and resourceful with sound analytical and strategic planning abilities. I have excellent interpersonal communication skills and thrive in complex working environments. I have presented many personal growth and development workshops and coordinated community events and projects. My passions are witchcraft, meditation, yoga, art-making, working with grief and loss and community.
